Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates
What is it?
Over-the-Air (OTA) updates are the wireless delivery of new software, firmware, or data to a vehicle. It is the same process your smartphone uses to update its operating system.
How it works
The vehicle connects to the manufacturer's servers via its built-in cellular connection or a Wi-Fi network. When an update is available, it is downloaded in the background. The driver is then prompted to install the update, which can fix bugs, improve performance, or even add entirely new features to the car.
Why it matters
OTA updates mean that your car can actually get better over time, rather than being stuck with the software it had on the day it was built. It saves drivers from having to visit a dealership just to fix a software glitch or update the navigation maps.
The Aximote Advantage
Just like your car receives OTA updates from the manufacturer, Aximote receives seamless updates via the Google Play Store in your car.
