2. Scope

This privacy policy applies to the use of the Aximote mobile app and the Aximote Android Automotive OS (AAOS) app.

A separate privacy policy applies to the Aximote website.

4. Data we process

4.1 Account and profile data

When registering for and using the Aximote apps, we process data required to provide you with a user account and to operate the apps securely. This includes in particular your email address, your name (e.g., when signing in via a third-party provider such as Google), an optional profile picture, and internal identifiers and authentication information.

This data is used exclusively to provide the user account, authentication, system security, and the handling of the user relationship.

4.2 Vehicle and driving data

A core component of the Aximote apps is the processing of vehicle-related data. This data is read via approved vehicle interfaces and is directly related to use of the apps.

This includes in particular information on vehicle movement, driving behavior, energy or fuel consumption, charging and range information, vehicle statuses, and technical operating and environmental parameters. The exact scope of data can vary depending on vehicle type, equipment, and powertrain.

Vehicle and driving data is linked to your user account and processed in pseudonymized form. Personal vehicle or driving data is not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Processing this data is necessary to provide the core functions of the apps, display trips, enable analyses and evaluations, and calculate scores and comparable features.

4.3 Location data

When using the Aximote apps, location data may be generated, particularly in connection with trips or charging processes. This data is used exclusively for trip-related functions such as displaying routes or analyzing completed trips.

There is no permanent background monitoring and no location data is processed outside active use of the app.

4.4 Manually entered content

The Aximote apps offer the option to voluntarily enter additional information. This can include odometer readings, notes, damage details, license plates, or a profile picture.

This content is not collected automatically but is stored only on the initiative of users and displayed within the app. It serves individual management and organization and is not required to use the apps.

5. Community features and public content

The Aximote apps offer optional community features that allow users to share content with other users.

If you explicitly choose to use the community features, certain information may be visible to other users depending on your settings. This includes in particular a freely chosen username, aggregated evaluations such as scores or leaderboard positions, as well as individual completed trips including the associated route.

Trips are displayed only after completion of the respective trip. There is no live tracking. No clear data such as your name, email address, or license plate is publicly displayed.

Participation in community features is voluntary and can be ended at any time. If community features are deactivated, the relevant content is no longer publicly displayed.

6. Analytics, stability, and product improvement

To improve the functionality, stability, and usability of the Aximote apps, usage and diagnostic data may be processed if you explicitly consent. This includes, for example, statistical information about app use as well as technical error and crash data.

This data helps us detect errors, optimize app performance, and develop new features. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app settings.

7. Sharing of information

7.1 Visibility to other users

Certain information may be visible to other users depending on your privacy settings. This applies in particular to content you actively share as part of the community features. You can control visibility at any time.

7.2 Service providers

To provide, operate, and improve the Aximote apps, we use external service providers. They support us, for example, with hosting, app usage analytics, error diagnostics, or subscription and payment processing.

These service providers receive access only to the information required to perform their respective tasks and are contractually obliged to process the data solely on our behalf and to comply with appropriate security measures.

7.3 Research and development

We may use or share fully anonymized or aggregated information for research and development purposes, for example to gain insights into mobility, driving behavior, or the use of our products. This data does not allow any conclusions about individual persons, vehicles, or trips.

7.4 Legal obligations

We may disclose data if we are legally obligated to do so or if this is necessary to assert legal claims, prevent misuse, or ensure the safety of our users and systems.

8. Your rights

You have the right at any time to access the personal data we process, to correct inaccurate data, to delete or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

To exercise your rights, you can contact us at any time using the contact details above.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as needed, for example due to legal, technical, or functional changes. The current version is available within the app.
